The St. Martin De Porres Parish was first established in the Saint Ann Mission by Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy of Miami

Then, between 1990 and 1992, it remained in the Naranja shopping center with Rev. Fr. Luís Rivera.

After the destruction caused by Hurricane Andrew, it was moved to an army tent, where it remained until 1993. (Rev. Fr. Luís Rivera.)

Later, in 1993 to 1994, it was moved to a school cafeteria with Rev. Fr. Luís Rivera.

In 1994 it was placed in a tent on the land where the future church was to be built. The pastor was Rev. Fr. Luís Rivera.

Then a trailer was brought in in 1994 where it remained until 1999, when the building was finished.  Rev. Fr. Luís Rivera was still our pastor.

En el año de 1996 recibimos a un nuevo Párroco, el Rev. P. Rolando García, quien lidereó a la Parroquia en la aprobación y construcción de las actuales instalaciones para usos múltiples

In 1999 the new church building was finally completed. These facilities were dedicated and blessed by Archbishop John C. Favalora on May 9, 1999.

In 2001, Bishop Favarola appointed a new pastor for the church,  The Reverend Father Carlos Vega

With our parish priest Rev. Fr. Joaquin Rodriguez, installed in 2010 by Archbishop Thomas Wenski, twenty-five years later we celebrated our anniversary with the presence of the Auxiliary Bishop of Miami, Monsignor Peter Baldacchino.

In 2025, a new parish priest was appointed to our church, Rev. Fr. Adonis Gonzalez-Betancourt, by Archbishop Thomas Wenski. Fr. Adonis had already been serving as administrator since 2024.
